OPEN LETTER TO MIDDLETOWN AREA AGENTS
This is not a “recruiting” letter. This is simply a glimpse into the future and an offer to help EACH OTHER. If your office closes and/or consolidates with an office in Cincinnati or Dayton you can be assured you have a place to go right here in Middletown (by the way… Middletown, Ohio might not be the “garden spot” of the nation for Real Estate sales but being located here does give us easy access to both Cincinnati AND Dayton markets. We are in a GREAT spot for agents willing to work). We are not sure what you’ve heard or what you think about our company. We do in fact have 3 meetings a week at 8:30am. They are not mandatory (we don’t like that word much). We have meetings so our agents are consistently kept informed and yes, we do believe in them. Broker/Manager Michael is a bit of a “slave driver” but that is because he cares about his agents and wants them to succeed. When things go badly he is the best Friend an agent ever had. (He backs his agents even when they are Wrong)
We probably believe in the same things you do. Treat people right, tell the truth, do your best, etc. We MAY have some minor differences in philosophy but they can probably be worked out (dress code, Tim). We also have some basic beliefs in coming to work (to work) and going home (to be home).
We are quite aware that agents can get bigger “splits” at other companies. We have studied the market and area agents and find that companies that offer the highest “splits” are dying and have the most starving agents. A big commission split means nothing if you aren’t selling anything. We also know that because we have an REO dept. we have gotten the reputation of selling “smaller” homes and most agents want to sell BIG houses. NO KIDDIN? …US TOO! WE move with the market and we “sell what’s sellin”. When big houses with big prices start moving we will work that market. For now, we are just trying to sell whatever we can to survive. You too? Thought so.
We are also aware of the temptation to go to that giant Real Estate Company in Cincinnati. Make no mistake, they WANT you. But do they NEED you? Really, wouldn’t you rather work for and with a Middletown company that WANTS and NEEDS you? Wouldn’t you rather work for a broker who was born in Middletown, with agents who live in Middletown, with a company that BELIEVES in Middletown? Michael Combs is just a guy trying to make ends meet in a HORRIBLE Real Estate market. He lives in a little house and drives old cars. He wasn’t born into money. He has no trust fund. He needs agents and is willing to provide the best environment in his power to help agents succeed. Again, understand we are not trying to steal” you. If your office stays open and you are happy and productive there, stay there. You know and like the people and it’s easy and comfortable. If your situation changes, check us out. |
